Dear Cy,

I do believe that people become teachers because they refuse to grow up. Why else do you think I plan to be one? Now I regret that I have to tell you some bad news. This past weekend I was left abandoned on the sidewalk after being kicked out by my boyfriend. I had to wait there with all of my things for hours because my phone was dead and nobody knew where to find me. The really interesting thing is that until I was sitting there on the curb, and a man passing by mentioned it, I had not even known that I was living with my boyfriend. In fact I had not realized that I even had a boyfriend. Its amazing to me that the comments of passers by can make you realize such important things about your own life.

Sincerely,
Lisa

Dear Lisa,

I am sorry to hear about your strange dreams. Sometimes, though, reality is a little stranger. As I was walking to class this morning I fell into step behind someone I assume is a professor. He was balding, middle-aged, dressed sharper than most others who frequented campus, and attached to his laptop bag was a small plush pig keychain. Sometimes I wonder if people become instructors because they don't want to grow up.

Sincerely,
Cyane

Dear Cy,

I can truly empathize with your pain. On a clearly not similar note, I have discovered that eating snakes late at night has a terrible effect on my dreams. I do not think that waking in the middle of the night with a chokehold on my body pillow is very healthy. I think that interpreting your dreams can be very useful but I do not think I will be able to completely understand the meaning of this particular dream without thinking a bit "inside the box". You would not happen to know where I can find a very large cardboard box would you?

Sincerely,

Lisa
