Dear Lisa,

Sorry to hear about the clock tower. I hope it takes lessons soon. (Though I hear that it plays a passable rendition of "Hey Jude!")
So, today's adventure included making caramels and fudge with my mother. I was responsible for good amount of the fudge, and, since we didn't have any semi-sweet chocolate chips we used milk chocolate. Have you ever had sickly-sweet chocolate fudge? Yeah... mom told me that I had to lick the bowl and beaters. It was quite a sacrifice!

Sincerely,
Cyane

Dear, Cy

I think burning rubber is quite a nice smell actually. I fear however, that your coat woes pale in comparison to the disturbing noises on campus lately. I have to worry about any college that employs a clock tower that stutters and pauses before continuing when it forgets the next note. I am fairly certain that the poor economy and budget cuts should not be an excuse for hiring children to ring your bells. Perhaps the cause is their choice of music. How can there be enough time to practice when you only have to perform "We wish you a merry Christmas" a couple of times a year? There seems to be no end to the casualties of the Christmas season.

Sincerely,
Lisa

Dear Lisa,

I did my laundry today. I decided it was about time to wash my big winter coat, so I looked at the care instructions. It told me to tumble dry low with three tennis balls or a clean sneaker. I don't own three tennis balls, nor do I own what I consider to be a clean sneaker. Do you think my racquetballs will make it smell like rubber?

Sincerely,
Cyane
